Arsenal go into the final match of the 2023/2024 Premier League season knowing they cannot afford to slip up against Everton and hope Westham take up points off Manchester City to be able to win the title they last won 2004 during the famous Invisible seasons. Arsenal during the course of the season till the final day are undeafeat against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and both Manchester clubs. The gunners after visiting the Etihad, Anfield and Old Trafford left undefeated which on other seasons they could have left with nothing with the impressive William Saliba winning man of the match on every of those visit. Also for the second season running Arsenal defeated rivals Spurs away from home. But yet it could all count for nothing if Arsenal fail to beat Everton or if they do their part and Westham got beaten by City. Arsenal fans were hoping Spurs could get a point off City but they will be haunted by that Heiug mi Son miss for years with the Korean forward missing a very clear one-on-one chance to bring Spurs level on the night and would end up ruing that lost chance as Erling Haaland scored from the spot minutes later to get his brace in City 2-0 win to earn their first win at the Tottenham stadium in as many attempts.
Going into the final day a win for City irrespective of the Arsenal result will see Pep Guardiola win the title with City for the fourth year running and be the first manager to achieve that feet winning four leagues title in a roll. City will have Ederson missing after he got injured against Spurs with Stefan Ortega replacing the Brazilian and making a huge safe after an error from Manuel Akanji to keep City lead intact. Arsenal on their part have everyone fit and available and would hope to get the win over Everton and hope City drop point against Westham. Ahead of the game Arteta had this to say about the Son miss: “If I had to pick a player in Premier League for that moment, it probably would be Son!”. Arteta will be hoping for a favour from the Hammers against Pep who confirmed he would be City boss come next season: “Yes, I’ve a contract and I want to be here”. “My plan is to be here next season, yes or yes”.
Identical Premier League trophies will be at both the Etihad and Arsenal’s Emirate stadium on Sunday as well as a set of 40 medals. The Etihad and Emirates will also house identical podiums and fireworks for potential title-winning parties, with an expert engraver present. Arsenal and City kick off 4pm local time as so the rest of the teams on the final match day. Don’t miss it as it promises to be fun and exciting.
