Erling Haaland’s brace and a strike each from Tijani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki ensured that Manchester City secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in one of the Premier League opening games at Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
City opened the scoring in the 34th minute through Haaland, the forward received an assist from Rico Lewis to notch his first goal of the season.
Reijnders doubled City’s lead three minutes after the opening goal after he was set up by Oscar Bobb.
Pep Guardiola’s men continued to dominate the game and scored the third goal, moments after the hour mark through Haaland.
Wolves made spirited effort to reduce the deficit without success, as City got the fourth goal some minutes before the end of the game through Cherki, who came in for Haaland.
The forward fired a ferocious shot from outside the box to beat goalkeeper Jose Sato to help his side secure a victory at Molineux Stadium.
Brighton holds Fulham
Brighton played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham in another Premier League game on Saturday.
Matt O’Riley scored for the Seagulls and Rodrigo Muniz was on the scoresheet for the Saints to ensure both sides settle for a point each.
