Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has expressed his eagerness to face his fellow German Kai Havertz in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
The draw for the 2023/24 last eight as well as the semi-finals of the competition was made at Nyon in Switzerland on Friday.
Arsenal will play Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid will try Manchester City for size while Paris Saint-Germain will slug it out with Barcelona.
Bayern nicked a place in the quarter-finals after defeating Serie A side Lazio in the Round of 16 of the tournament and Muller is eagerly looking forward to his side’s encounter with the Gunners, who beat FC Porto to advance in the competition, as well as meeting with his international teammate, Havertz. The 34-year-old midfielder expressed his opinion on the draw through the social media.
Muller said: “And it’s Arsenal! Kai Havertz, my friend, I am waiting for you. It’s a nice draw, two very good teams, two very good stadiums, two very good cities. It will be tough but I’ always positive, see you Gunners”.
The first leg of the Champions League of the quarterfinals will kick off on April 9 and 10 respectively.
