Premier League 2024/2025: Arsenal and Manchester City face huge test from heavy spenders Chelsea and Manchester United for the title

2024/2025 season could potentially be more than just Arsenal and Manchester City going head to head for the title with Chelsea heavily investing on players and positions that were more telling and Manchester United heavily investing on defenders and bolstering their attacks not to mention the impressive work done by Arne Slot’s Liverpool so far in pre-season with notable victory over Arsenal and Manchester United.

Over the course of the last two seasons Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal pushed City for most of the season but after losing William Saliba to injury against Sporting Lisbon, Arsenal went on to lose ground on City who marched on to reclaiming the EPL title and last season the Gunners pushed City all the way down to the wire. Many are predicting Arsenal and City as overwhelm favourite for the title this season but Manchester United and Chelsea need to be in the picture. Eric Ten Hang has renewed his contract after rumors emerged that he would lose his position after the FA Cup final no matter the outcome but after a change of heart and positive talks with owners, Ten Hang extended his deal and was allowed to have total say in transfers and the Manchester United manager has bolster his defence with signing of Leny Yoro from Lille beating Real Madrid to his signing, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich and Lisandro Martinez now back from injury and off the back of Argentina winning the Copa America, United now have a defence capable of competing and battling it out with the best for major honours this season and United also added Joshua Zirkzee to their attack, with the Dutch winger joining from Bologna also capable to play in the number nine position.

Not to mention Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea with the new man heavily investing on new players. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall joined from Leceister City in midfield as well as Marc Guiu and Pedro Neto in attack, joining from Barcelona and Wolves, Tosin Adarabioyo and Renato Viega in defence joining from Fulham and Basel respectively and adding a new goal keeper in Jorgensen from Villarreal to add to the already players Maresca inherited with Cole Palmer top of that list, much is expected of Chelsea and with City first to play in the Blues first match of the season, a win for Chelsea could be a statement of intent going into the season and Chelsea, though many people are writing them off could pose a big threat to City and Arsenal and could fight for the title if all their players manage to stay fit and excel together.

Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp who left after last match of the previous campaign and despite no activity yet in the transfer market impressed in pre-season with victories over Arsenal and United and most recently the 4-1 win over Sevilla with most of his star players absent. Martin Zubimendi may have rejected Liverpool and decides to stay at Real Soceidad but Arne Slot, with the players he inherited, and should Diogo Jota stay fit for much of the season, could also be a threat and have a go at the title. Much is expected of Arsenal and City this coming season but Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool and not to be taken fpr granted or left out. The 2024/2025 will obviously be a season of surprises and an interesting one.
