The Rivers Government has made it known that its decision to rebuild the Rivers State House of Assembly came as an advice from experts.
The government explained that the dignity of the structure has been marred due to the recent explosion on the hallowed chambers of the assembly and that it is unfit for human use.

In a statement issued by the Rivers State Commissioner for information, Mr. Joseph Johnson, the governor said it was necessary to invite professionals to advise the government on what to do with the building.
Remember, because of the explosives used to attack the complex, the walls had visible cracks, making it unsafe for legislative business.
Johnson said, “After the assessment of the integrity of the complex, the experts warned the government that continuing to use the building in its present state would be disastrous.
“In the interim, the Rivers State Government has provided an alternative venue for the House of Assembly to conduct their affairs pending the rebuilding of the complex.”
