Popular Nigerian musician, David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, has praised the women national team of Nigeria, following a resounding success in Rabat, where the team claimed the Women African Cup of Nations trophy while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised them rewards.

The Super Falcons clinched the title for the 10th time, after coming from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against host country, Morocco.

Davido lauded the women team and revealed his delight for not wasting his time to watch them in the final.

“The moment I heard our Nigerian women team were playing in the final, I paused everything I had planned that day,” Davido said.

“I’m a big football fan, and spending two hours to watch our ladies wasn’t a problem at all. Thank God those two hours weren’t wasted -they brought the trophy home! I must say these girls [can] play ball well, [not by] mouth!”

President Tinubu has promised to hand the Super Falcons a sum of 150 million naira and a house each for the feat they recorded in the competition.

The Nigerian stars were also decorated with national honours and were praised for showing a Nigerian spirit of doggedness.
“You have brought immense pride to our nation,” President Tinubu said. “Your victory goes beyond the football pitch. It is a symbol of resilience, courage, and what is possible when we dare to believe and work together. You have ignited a new flame of hope in millions of Nigerians.”

Chiamaka Nnadozie clinched the best goalkeeper of the tournament while Rasheedat Ajibade was adjudged as the best player in the competition.
