Victor Osimhen has sealed a four-year permanent move to Turkish Super Lig side, Galatasaray on Thursday.
The Nigerian forward spent last season with the club on loan from Serie A side, Napoli and put in impressive performances to ensure his side win the league title and the Cup trophy.
Osimhen earned several awards for his blistering displays, including the Golden Boot award, after scoring the highest goals in the division.
Galatasaray sealed the signing of the Super Eagles star ahead of Premier League sides, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. The deal is reportedly worth €75 million.
The fans-favourite appreciated the president, vice president and the manager of the club for ensuring the success of the contract.
” I’d like to thank our president, our vice president, Abdullah Bey, George Gardi, and our coach Okan for bringing me here,” Osimhen said.
“I came here because I love it and feel good about myself. I’ve come to a place where I can express myself through my football, through everything I do. I want to thank the fans who followed our flight. I believe I’ll be able to show my best here in my own home. I’m eagerly awaiting the fans.”
Fans will be looking forward to seeing Osimhen feature prominently for his side next season, barring injuries. He will be expected to join his club before pre-season starts.
The forward observed his holiday in Nigeria. He used the opportunity to attend William Troost-Ekong’s charity game, his sister’s naming ceremony and Odion Ighalo’s birthday party.
