There is an ongoing closed-door discussion at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The members of the meeting include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governors of Rivers State and Kaduna State, Neysom Wike and Nasir El-Rufai, respectively.
While Wike and El-Rufai are considered as ministerial nominees by the president, Wike arrived at the State House around 1:40pm, while El-Rufai entered at approximately 2pm.
This meeting comes shortly after Wike’s confirmation as a minister by the Senate. However, El-Rufai’s confirmation was withheld due to reported security report.
Insiders at the Presidential Villa suggest that the main agenda of this meeting is to strategize on securing the Senate’s approval for El-Rufai’s ministerial appointment.
