On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, many were feared dead and others badly injured as armed robbers attacked some commercial banks in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The incident has created fear and tension in the community. However, the precise damage done by the armed robbers is still under investigation at the time of filing this report.
Sahara Reporters said residents reported that the robbers used dynamite to blow open the entrance of the banks and cart away unspecified amounts of money.
It was discovered that social and business activities in the town had been put on hold for several hours while the robbery was taking place. Both human and vehicular movements came to a complete stop until the robbery was over.
