Super-sub Reece James inspires Chelsea to a comeback victory

Reece James inspired Chelsea to a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in a Premier League game on Saturday.

The defender recently recuperated from a surgery after suffering a hamstring injury and made an impressive cameo appearance against the Reds. The Blues captain set up two goals in the encounter to help his side secure a comeback victory.

After being down by 2-1, following an opening goal from Mykhailo Mudryk for Chelsea, an equalizer from Willy Billy and a strike from Forest’s Callum Hudson- Odoi, James was brought on for Conor Callagher in the 79th minute and made an immediate impact, setting up Raheem Sterling to level proceedings in the 80th minute.

The skipper then found Nicolas Jackson with a pass and the forward then powered home a fine header to beat goalkeeper Matz Sels and hand the Blues a slim win.

The victory ensured that Chelsea climbed to the seventh spot on the league table after garnering 57 points from 36 games.

The defeat leaves Forest at the 17th on the log with 29 points from 37 matches.

Chelsea will take on Brighton & Hove Albion while Forest will confront Burnley on May 15 and 19 respectively.
