Ndidi brightens Leicester City’s promotion

Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi found the back of the net in Leicester City’s 5-0 demolition of Southampton in Tuesday’s Championship game at King Power Stadium.

The performance from the Foxes has brightened their promotion to the Premier League, needing only a win to earn a return.
Abdul Fatawu was instrumental to the success of Leicester, scoring a hat-trick while goals from Jamie Vardy and Ndidi sealed the Victory.

The Foxes were relegated from the topflight last season, thus, ending almost a decade stay on the top division and have been making efforts to return. In the current campaign, the club has won 30 games and drawn four times in an effort to gain promotion.

Ndidi shines

Ndidi has been one of the outstanding and consistent players for Leicester, although rumours making the rounds indicate he could be on his way out of the club at the end of the current season.

The midfielder, again, showed his ability by scoring his fourth goal of the season, which proved significant for his side.

Leicester manager Enzor Maresca eyes victory over Preston

Leicester manager Enzor Maresca is hoping to nick a place in the Premier League with a win over Preston in a Championship game on Monday.
The Italian tactician has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his side against the Saints, although he believes his side needs to improve on their efforts.

Maresca told BBC Radio Leicester: “The good thing now is that we are nearly there, we just need one more win to finish our job and hopefully that will be in the next game against Preston away.

“Most of the time people judge the results. I think the performance was good but I don’t think it was our best performance of the season.

“But overall it was a fantastic performance on the ball and off the ball, the way they pressed, the way they worked until the end.”

Leicester City has 94 points from 44 games, four points above second-place Leeds United. The team enjoyed success during their time in the Premier League, winning a number of laurels including the topflight title.
