Monday night Premier League Football sees Aston Villa and Liverpool played out a 3-3 triller at Villa Park

Aston Villa on monday night at Villa Park came from behind twice from 1-0 down and 3-1 down to play 3-3 n what was a must win game in their quest for Champions League football next season. Emiliano Martinez forced the ball into his own net from a Harvey Elliott cross inside 61seconds to give Liverpool an early lead which was quickly cancelled out by Youri Tielemans in the 12th minute after brilliant work down the Liverpool right hand side from Ollie Watkins. Liverpool went 2-1 up after 23minutes after Luiz Diaz found the overlapping Joe Gomez who started at left back and his shot was parried albiet deflection from Martinez fingertip to leave Cody Gakpo with an easy tap in.

Liverpool went 2-1 up at half time and in the second period the reds went 3-1 up after Jarell Quansah met an Harvey Elliott cross to fire in off the cross bae for Liverpool third goal of the night. Liverpool and Villa made a flurry of changes and it was one of Villa’s substitute Jhon Duran who got Villa back in the game with a left footed shot that left Allison hapless in the Liverpool goal to make it 3-2. Two soon became three for Villa with Duran sticking out a Moussa Diaby intended pass for Watkins and wrong footing Allison Becker to bring the game level at 3-3 and send Villa fans up in escatsy. Villa had a chance to snatch the win in stoppage time but Allison saved brilliantly from Mousa Diaby when the ball was destined to find the back of the net and it finishes 3-3 draw at Villa park

What the draw means for both side:

Liverpool with little or nothing to lose remain third on the league but Villa on their part with a superior goal difference over Tottenham can secure champions league football with a draw away at Crystal Palace while a Tottenham draw or defeat against title hopeful City on Tuesday could all but secure Villa participation in the Champions League next season. Villa and Arsenal fans will surely be following events at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium tomorrow with both hoping for a different outcome. The gunners hoping for Spurs win while Villan fans will hope City do them the favour of obtaining the Champions league ticket tomorrow before the palace game. Kick off at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium is 20:00 Tuesday night.
